Paint & Prayers: Art Journal Workshop
Hello friend! Welcome to Paint & Prayers my newest online Art Journaling Workshop. This workshop is all about the process. My desire for you for this workshop is to be able to follow my lead and make your own beautiful artworks. I love art and I love teaching art, and I’m excited to break down the process of making art and making it duplicatable for you.
I have been creative for the last 25 years. This creativity is translating now into teaching others a simpler, approachable way to create and be creative. I love the creative process and I know how much it has changed my life and heal my heart and I just want to pay it forward.
Thank you so much, for joining me in this online workshop. I hope that you enjoy my process and my stories. This workshop consists of three lessons. The first lesson is starting with paint.
We will create some drama with black paint on white paper and use washes for depth and text for texture. The second lesson is about a paper on paper and butterflies as a starting point. And finally, the final lesson is about starting with passage or text and using washes to direct our pages. Also be sure to first look at the basics video where I explained how to prepare the pages with gesso and the reason for this.
In the supply video lesson below, you will find all my favorite art supplies to create art journals with. I talk about the books that I use, I talk about my favorite brand of paints, brushes, inks, and everything else that I use all the time. Be sure to watch this video as I think it will answer a lot of your questions.
Lastly, there is the devotional lesson section. This is more about the journaling part of this process. I love God, and my journaling is mostly players. So, because of this, the class is called paint and prayers. I wrote the prayers on my pages and then I type them out and I put them in a devotional for you to read and to make your own. Or rather think of it that those prayers are my prayers for you. If you a little discouraged or have a heavy heart about anything I really think the devotional video will bring you joy, and cheer your heart.
