Lesson 2: Gift Bag Cards

Treat your loved ones this February, and create the most beautiful valentine cards with Wilna in Lesson 2. Jumbo playing cards, tags, heart-shaped doilies, and glittered tulle = a statement card no one will forget. Then take your pick of 10 printable owl embellishments, add some feathers, paper flowers, and ribbon to finish off the…

Lesson 3: Janna Werner

I am a huge fan of layers, so what could be a better memory keeping theme than heart layers? Usually, I tend to create layers with paper, but there are other great ways of doing so. With paint and paste, for example. I worked with embossing paste, but you could use structure paste as well….

Lesson 4: Mini Pails

Watch as Wilna takes her own spin on the usual flowers-and-chocolate gift in Lesson 4. She makes her own “flowers” by using a mini garden pail as a base, gluing a straw (the stem) to the bottom, and attaching a mini heart-shaped card (the flower) to the top. Wilna then embellishes the “flower” with her…

Lesson 5: Layout by Wilna

Continuing with the theme of layers, Wilna further explores the use of paper and embellishments to create this Lesson 5 layout. Some favourite elements such as the tulle, owl and flower printables, heart-shaped doilies, and ribbon make an appearance. Once Wilna mounts her page, she points out that although this is a valentine themed page,…

Lesson 6: Paper Mache!

Paper mache owls, what’s cuter than that? In Lesson 6, Wilna shows you how to use your own paper mache “glue” and how to shape and form lightweight, miniature owls. This 2-3 day project, is cheap, fun and friendly for all ages, making it the perfect project to do with a bunch of your loved…

Lesson 7: Raquel Bowman

Well, I must start by saying that I am a lover of layering on my pages, so when Wilna asked me to contribute to this Heart Layers class I was so honored and excited! To me, layering is not just about paper, its adding layers through a variety of mediums, materials, and embellishments all to…

Lesson 8: Heart Boxes!

Wilna uses the previous video’s paper mache owls to create a personalized gift box in Lesson 8. She places her owls on top of the boxes, and paper mache’s around them to help paint stick. By using acrylic whites, reds, and gold, Wilna paints beautifully blended backgrounds, which are then embellished with her own flourishes,…

Lesson 9: Layout by Wilna

Wilna shows you how to further push layers, and create this wonderful Lesson 9 layout. She uses her printable, round owl frames to layer on top of pink, glittered tulle and a heart-shaped doily. Wilna keeps it simple by embellishing with ribbon, a printable quote, and some washi tape. This is a great time to…

Lesson 10: Layout by Wilna

In Lesson 10, Wilna continues with layers in her final layout. The reappearing glittered tulle, heart-shaped doilies, and printable owl frames are what really make this page special. Wilna uses chipboard and washi tape as final embellishments, then mounts her page on pink, chevron paper. By this layout, you will have had plenty of layering…
